St. Nikolai (Metzels)
The Evangelical Lutheran village church St. Nikolai is in the Metzels district of the town of Wasungen in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district in Thuringia .
history
The Nikolaikapelle was consecrated on December 6, 1228. In the 15th century, the chapel was expanded and converted into the fortified church that is still standing today . From this time around 1488 only the church tower remains today.
Since the turning point
Since 1994, the renovated church the parsonage and builds the parish barns to a community center.
