St. Nikolaus (Neuboddenberg)
The St. Nikolaus Church is a Catholic church in the Steinbüchel / Neuboddenberg district of Leverkusen . It is the seat of the parish of the same name in the pastoral care area of Leverkusen Southeast.
history
After the acquisition of land (90 ares) for the new building of the church, pastorate and sextonies through exchange and donation, the foundation stone was laid on July 8, 1894 . The neo-Romanesque church planned by the architect Krämer from Cologne cost 58,000 marks and was completed in spring 1895. When the church was inaugurated on May 27, 1895 by Archbishop Antonius Fischer , the relics from the old church were placed in the high altar. Three altars, the baptismal font and the mission cross from 1788 were also taken from the old church.
