The church

The Protestant village church of St. Nikolaus stands in the middle of the Rundlingsdorf Tiefengruben , a district of the city of Bad Berka in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish of Bad Berka in the Weimar parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

A previous church was built in the 15th century. The rectangular hall building with the flush east tower was built in 1686 in the baroque style. The pulpit has already been impressively painted.

At the end of the 19th century the church was surrounded by a cemetery .

After the structural damage had been repaired, the interior was gradually renovated in 1997.

Winter church

The winter church is now still an exhibition space and is always open to visitors and believers.
