St. Nikolaus von Flüe (Bochum)

The Church of St. Nikolaus von Flüe is a Roman Catholic church building in Bochum-Marmelshagen. The church named after St. Niklaus von Flüe is located at Dorstener Straße 368 (corner of Poststraße) and belongs to the parish of St. Peter and Paul in the Deanery Bochum and Wattenscheid of the diocese of Essen .

As early as 1930 the St. Franziskus parish acquired a church building site in Marmelshagen, but it was not until September 25, 1955 that the foundation stone was laid for the church. The geostete church with its free-standing tower was designed by architect Otto Weicken built and on June 24, 1956 consecrated . In the same year the four-part cast steel bell h ° -d'-e'-fis' was put into operation. The windows of the church are by Gabriel Loire .

On April 1, 1955 the parish vicarie St. Nikolaus von Flüe was established , which was raised to an independent parish on November 1, 1956. In the same year, the consecration of the four cast steel bells, which sound in h ° -d'-e'-f sharp '. Since September 1, 2008, the church has belonged to the Bochum and Wattenscheid deanery, which was then formed from the two deaneries Bochum and Wattenscheid . Also since that day the church belongs to the parish of St. Peter and Paul .

The church has been a listed building since March 31, 2005 .
