St. Patrick (Toronto Subway)
St. Patrick is an underground subway station in Toronto . It lies on the Yonge-University line of the Toronto Subway , at the intersection of University Avenue and Dundas Street . It is named after the nearby St. Patrick's Church. The station has a central platform and is used by an average of 30,250 passengers every day (2015). The Art Gallery of Ontario and the Ontario College of Art & Design are also nearby . You can change to a bus line and tram line 505.
The station opened on February 28, 1963, along with the Union - St. George section . However, it did not reach its full market value until three years later with the opening of the Bloor-Danforth Line crossing in St. George . In the first few years, the capacity utilization was lower than originally forecast. For this reason, operations were restricted, especially on weekends; it has only been continuous on the entire route since 1978.
