The Church of St. Peter is a Catholic church building in Cologne-Neuehrenfeld .

history

The church was built according to plans by the architect Theodor Roß and was consecrated on June 29, 1901. A 62 m high tower is in front of the three-aisled hall building with a transept (“Dom vum Ihrefeld”) built in neo-Gothic style .

Furnishing

Parts of the original furnishings were reused in new contexts during the post-conciliar redesign. The stained glass windows were designed by Hermann Josef Baum in 1978.

The organ was built in 1912 as a choir organ for the Abbey Church of Marienstatt (Westerwald). In 1950 the instrument was rebuilt and expanded to 38 registers . In 1965 the organ was placed more or less unchanged in St. Peter. In 1988 the organ was installed in a neo-Gothic case , expanded and the originally romantic soundscape restored. The cone store instrument today has 46 stops on three manual works and a pedal . The playing and stop actions are electric.
