St. Peter and Paul (Scharmede)
The Catholic parish church of St. Peter and Paul is a listed building in Scharmede , a district of Salzkotten in the Paderborn district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The neo-Gothic wall pillar church with a choir in the 4/6 end was built from 1905 to 1906 by Franz Mündelein from broken stone. The west tower is in front, above the southern entrance there is a billet-hip gable.
Furnishing
- The high altar is richly carved, it was created in 1906 by Ferdinand Mündelein.
- The wooden crucifix is from around 1500.
- The double wooden Madonna was carved in the 16th century.
- The figures of Peter, Paul and Antonius are works from around 1700.
- Four bells hang in the tower, of which the three larger bells sound g1, b1 and c2 and were cast after the Second World War. There is also an old bell, which can neither be rung nor used.
