St. Petrus (Opperode)
Sankt Petrus is a Protestant church in the village of Opperode in the town of Ballenstedt in Saxony-Anhalt .
The church was built in 1891 in neo-Gothic style from yellow brick. A previous building, first mentioned in a document in 1310, had previously been demolished in 1890. To the west of the nave stands the church tower, which is slightly integrated into the nave, on a square floor plan. The elongated choir is polygonal .
The windows in the choir, made of colored glass, date from the time the church was built and depict Christ as the Good Shepherd . Depictions of Peter and Paul frame the image of Christ. In the nave there is a gallery on the western side . The church has a three-part bell, which is one of the oldest in Anhalt.
