history

The St. Paulus parish established in 1961 had developed into the largest parish in Tyrol in the 1980s with around 15,000 Catholics. Therefore, a pastor was appointed in 1982 and entrusted with the construction of a new parish in the south of Reichenau. From March 1983 a regular Sunday service was celebrated in the Reichenau clubhouse, on April 7, 1984 a makeshift church on the corner of Radetzkystraße and Langer Weg was blessed. In 1987 the construction of the parish center began, then from 1990 the church was built in place of the makeshift church and consecrated on November 8, 1992 by Bishop Reinhold Stecher  .

description

The church is a central building on a square floor plan with a steep pyramid-shaped tent roof , which is supported by four beams made of glued wood beams on reinforced concrete pillars. The tip is designed like a tower and carries a ball with a cross. There are arched windows between the beams that provide light for the interior. The parish center with the parish hall and rectory is directly connected to the northwest. These are flat-roofed, white-plastered brick buildings.

The interior of the church is a bright hall with an open roof structure. The slightly raised altar area is in the southeast and is surrounded on three sides by rows of pews.
