The Catholic parish church St. Severin is a listed church building in Calle , a district of Meschede , in the Hochsauerlandkreis , in North Rhine-Westphalia .

History and architecture

A first church was donated to Meschede Abbey in 1042 . It was closed in 1823 because of dilapidation and later demolished.

The current building was built from 1853 to 1859 according to plans by Friedrich Heinrich Kronenberg as a three-aisled hall church with a west tower.

Furnishing

  • High altar from 1636, in the niches there are five late Gothic saints of Petrus von Kolshusen , Antonius Abbot, Johannes Baptist, Madonna , Holy Bishop and James the Elder from the second quarter of the 16th century.
