The Church of St. Simonis et Judae is the Protestant church in Eismannsdorf . It is located in the town of Niemberg in the town of Landsberg (Saalekreis) in Saxony-Anhalt . The church is a listed building and is entered in the monument register with registration number 094 55279 as a monument .

location

To the west of the main street and south of the old town center, which is laid out as a round , is the village church in the cemetery.

History and architecture

The Romanesque building was already considered dilapidated in the 18th century, but was apparently only repaired during this time, as today only the window frames and the entrance to the northern sacristy look baroque. The building, which was built from porphyry stones around 1200 , today only has a Romanesque window on the north side. In the surrounding cemetery there are several baroque and classical tombstones.

Today the church belongs to the parish Niemberg / Eismannsdorf in the parish Hohenthurm. On its website, the church is described as "our particular problem child", as numerous maintenance measures are necessary, of which only a few particularly urgent - the roofing of the tower and nave and the renovation of the roof - could be carried out with the help of village renewal. The rectory, in turn, belongs to the Halle-Saalkreis parish in the Halle-Wittenberg provost of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

Interior and outfit

In the church there was a baptismal font around 1885 with the depiction of the Annunciation , framed by minuscules . There were also three bells hanging in the tower, at least one of which was made by the Ulrich brothers from Apolda and Laucha . In more recent descriptions, however, only the altarpiece from the early 19th century and the gallery and stalls from the 18th century are mentioned.
