St. Veit (Kleinfahner)

The Protestant village church of St. Veit is located in the Kleinfahner district of the municipality of Gierstädt in the Gotha district in Thuringia . The parish belongs to the Molschleben parish in the parish association "Fahner Land" in the Gotha parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

Kleinfahner was first mentioned in a document in 874.

Johann Volkmar Sickler was the local pastor from 1791 to 1820 and during this time he was the founder of Fahner's fruit growing . His ideas and his work were supported by the landlord Friedrich Wilhelm von Seebach .

The old church, about which little is known, was demolished because of the risk of collapse. The stones for the new building were obtained from the region. On November 14th, 1864, the pastor Edmund Göring inaugurated the church with the words: “May God rule over the building with his grace and grant that a pious generation will always worship him here, which builds itself up as the living stones for the spiritual house “Inaugurated.
