List of churches in the Gotha parish

The list of churches in the Gotha parish includes the churches in this parish , which belongs to the Eisenach-Erfurt provost in the Evangelical Church in Central Germany . It includes parts of the Wartburg district , the Unstrut-Hainich district and the Bienstädt parish of the city of Erfurt in the east. Its seat is in Gotha . The 51 parishes of the parish have around 22,000 parishioners who are looked after by 19 pastors. Friedemann Witting is superintendent, his deputies Michael Weinmann and Anette Denner. The chairman of the district synod is Wulf Ehlers (as of November 2016).

The churches of the superintendent include several former fortified churches as well as other very old, partly Romanesque churches.

	Gamstädt	St. Michael	A stone block on the north-west corner of the church indicates the year 1422, but it is not known whether this is also the year of construction. The gallery painting from the time the nave was built, the beginning of the 18th century, with a clearly village-like and rural style of painting. The baroque interior work was carried out from 1680 to 1740. Open, imposing, baroque church sky from 1704 in egg tempera color. Its colors are still like new. The wall paintings above the pulpit altar were created around 1450 as Secco painting, but were not rediscovered until 1977 during a renovation. The crenellated church courtyard wall with lockable gates, loopholes and corbels indicate the defensibility of the church. 	Cobstädt	Cobstadt Church	The church emerged from a chapel that was expanded and converted into a church after the Reformation. Tower with the year 1581. Keystones of the eastern and western arched doors with the year 1653. In 1720 an organ was installed. In 1863 a new organ was purchased, which is still in the church today. 	Günthersleben	St. Petri	Presumably a Romanesque church stood here as early as the 10th century, but a large part of it was demolished due to its dilapidation. 	Tüttleben	St. Viti	A Latin inscription on the church tower shows that it was built on March 22nd, 1463. Presumably, however, there was already a previous church, as is so often the case in this area. The lavishly decorated pulpit from the Renaissance period is the most striking decoration inside the church. Two canvas paintings show Martin Luther and pastor Jakob F.
