St. Peter (Goldbach)

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Peter is located on the church square in Goldbach , a district of the rural community Nessetal in the Thuringian district of Gotha .

Community membership

The parish Emmaus Goldbach-Wangenheim part of the church district Gotha of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany . Until 2009, the entire church district belonged to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thuringia .

The nave of the late Gothic church is covered with a gable roof and has two naves with a choir closed on three sides . To the west of the church tower , which has a pointed, eight-sided tent roof , is a polygonal stair tower with a lantern . Inscription was started construction in 1518, in 1752 it was changed. The interior was repainted at the end of the 19th century . There are numerous stonemason's marks on the exterior and epitaphs from 1626/27 on the choir . The interior is spanned by a wooden barrel vault. In the north and west there are three-storey galleries , in the choir area they are circumferential, in the north they stand on stone pillars . They are probably the remains of the pillars of the originally planned north aisle . There are two ogival sacraments in the choir. The pulpit is from 1599, which with tracery veneered baptismal font from the early 16th century.

The organ with 21 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built by Friedrich Christian Knauf around 1850.
