description

The church is a simple hall church . In 1615/16 the nave with three window axes was added to the choir tower made of fieldstone , which is basically medieval . In 1661 stairwells were built to the side. The top floor of the slipped bell tower also dates from this time . There are two bells hanging in the belfry , one from 1483 and the other from 1666. The tower has a slate dome topped with a lantern . The church was renovated in 1846 and a gallery was added. The nave is covered with a slated gable roof with dormer windows . The interior is spanned by a wooden barrel vault. The baptismal font from the 1st half of the 17th century is decorated with fittings . The winged altar was built at the end of the 15th century and is attributed to a workshop in Erfurt. The altarpiece shows the coronation of Mary , flanked by saints . The twelve apostles are depicted in the side wings . The Annunciation and the Adoration of the Magi are painted on the outer flights .

The organ with 17 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1856 by Friedrich Christian Knauf .
