St. Gotthard (Großrettbach)
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Gotthard is located in Großrettbach , a district of the rural community Drei Gleichen in the Thuringian district of Gotha . It is named after Godehard von Hildesheim . The parish Großrettbach belongs to the parish Apfelstädt the region three of a kind in the church district Gotha the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
history
The church has been consecrated to St. Gotthard since ancient times. The choir tower dates from the Romanesque period. In the ground floor of a later Gothic vault was built. The nave was completely rebuilt in 1821 after the dilapidated previous building was demolished. The old building material was reused for the new building.

The hall church consists of the nave built in 1821 and a tower shaft made of quarry stones from the previous church from the 12th century, which in the 18th century received a slabbed floor for the belfry on which a curved dome sits. The nave, covered with a coffered hollow vault , has two-storey galleries . The pulpit from the construction period has been preserved.
The first organ built by Adam Georg Bodinus was inaugurated on October 2nd, 1689. A new organ with 15 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built by Nicolaus Gutjahr in 1738 and rebuilt in 1837 by Johann Friedrich Schulze .
