Drei Gleichen is a rural community in the Thuringian district of Gotha . It lies between the cities of Erfurt , Gotha and Arnstadt and is named after the castles of the Three Equals . The seat of the community is Wandersleben . The community is a fulfilling community for Schwabhausen .

The localities Cobstädt, Grabsleben and Großrettbach receive a common local constitution with the designation "Cobstädt / Grabsleben / Großrettbach". Likewise, the localities Günthersleben and Wechmar receive a common local constitution, while the other localities each receive their own local constitution.

First community Drei Gleichen 2009-2018

Community structure 2009 to 2018

The community was created on January 1, 2009 from the merger of the previously independent communities of Grabsleben , Mühlberg , Seebergen and Wandersleben . The administrative community Drei Gleichen , to which all municipalities belonged, was dissolved at the same time. Until the merger, the districts of Großrettbach and Cobstädt , which now belong to the community of Drei Gleichen, belonged to Grabsleben .

Second parish Drei Gleichen from 2018

On July 6, 2018, Drei Gleichen merged with the neighboring community Günthersleben-Wechmar to form the rural community Drei Gleichen.

While the villages of Wandersleben, Seebergen and Mühlberg each have their own district mayor, there is only one district mayor for Cobstädt, Grabsleben and Großrettbach. Until the local elections on May 25, 2014, this was Harald Zahn (SPD), his successor, Rüdiger Hänsch (FWG), was determined in a runoff on June 8, 2014. Current (June 2014) local mayors are Karsten Ullrich (CDU) in Mühlberg, Hartwig Gieße (CDU) in Seebergen and Sven Dahmen (FWG) in Wandersleben.

The mayor of the first municipality of Drei Gleichen, Jens Leffler, was confirmed in office in the mayoral election of the new municipality of Drei Gleichen on October 14, 2018 with 75.5% of the valid votes.

Currently (July 2018) the municipality does not have its own coat of arms. The previous coats of arms of the former communities of Grabsleben, Mühlberg, Seebergen, Wandersleben and Günthersleben-Wechmar can continue to be used by the local associations.

Community partnerships

The partner communities of Drei Gleichen are Reiskirchen in Hessen and Oberboihingen in Baden-Württemberg.

Attractions

The three castles Gleichen , Mühlburg and Wachsenburg are worth seeing .

The following churches also deserve attention: Cobstädter Church , Sankt-Georg-Kirche (Seebergen) , Sankt-Lukas-Kirche (Mühlberg) , Sankt-Magdalena-Kirche (Grabsleben) and Sankt-Petri-Kirche (Wandersleben) . They are entered in the monument list of Drei Gleichen.
