history

The rural community of Hörsel was founded on December 1st, 2011 from the voluntary amalgamation of the communities of Aspach , Ebenheim , Fröttstädt , Hörselgau , Laucha , Mechterstädt , Metebach , Teutleben , Trügleben and Weingarten .

The ten municipalities had been united in the Hörsel administrative community since March 1994 . After the administrative community had fallen below the legally required minimum of 5000 inhabitants in 2009, the municipal council decided in spring 2010 to convert it into a rural community. From August 1 to September 9, 2011, the draft law for the municipal merger in the municipalities was available.

On November 16, 2011, the Thuringian state parliament approved the Thuringian law on the voluntary reorganization of districts in 2011 by a majority. The Hörsel administrative community was thus dissolved on December 1, 2011 and the Hörsel rural community was formed.
