history

The village of Tüttleben was first mentioned in a document between 822 and 842. Already in 1421 the place belonged to the office of Gotha , which from 1640 belonged to the Duchy of Saxe-Gotha , from 1672 to the Duchy of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg and from 1826 to the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha . Since 1920 the place has been in the state of Thuringia .

In December 1945 , 17 young people between the ages of 14 and 18 were arrested in Tüttleben, which was part of the Soviet Zone , on suspicion of " werewolf ". After interrogations, mental and physical abuse in the KGB prisons in Gotha and Weimar , a 17-year-old committed suicide there. The other young people (with the exception of two 14-year-olds) were sent to the Soviet special camp in Sachsenhausen for years . Three of them died there; Another boy in the Bautzen prison , which was also a Soviet special camp at the time . Since April 9, 1992, Tüttleben has been merged with the municipalities of Bienstädt , Eschenbergen , Friemar , Molschleben , Nottleben , Pferdeleben , Tröchtelborn and Zimmersupra in the Nesseaue administrative community .
