Zimmersupra (previously officially written Zimmer supra ) is a municipality in the Thuringian district of Gotha and a member of the Nesseaue administrative community .

Zimmersupra is located approx. 12 km northeast of the district town of Gotha and approx. 12 km west of Erfurt . The only flowing water of the place is the rivulet of the Flachsröstengraben , which rises at the north-western edge of the village, which meanders through the locality and flows a few hundred meters south into the Mollbach coming from the east . This in turn flows into the Nesse north of the neighboring village of Nottleben .
The highest point in the district of Zimmersupra is the Bienstädter Höhe in the northwest (344.8 m above sea level), the lowest point is in the south-southwest, where the Mollbach the municipality area at 291 m above sea level. NN after Nottleben leaves. The Hopfenberg (314.1 m above sea level) located near the western edge of the village suggests that Zimmersupra once had the right to brew brewing.
The place is crossed by the L 1044 ( Ermstedt - Bienstädt ), it is also the L 1043 ( Erfurt - Tröchtelborn ) in the course of the village . To the east, the K 24 (also L 1043) leaves the village and ends after 1400 m at the municipal boundary ( Erfurter Tor ) at the K 12, which leads north from there in the direction of Töttelstädt .
history
The first written mention of the place in the Breviarium sancti Lulli comes from the year 775. Here the name "Cimbero" was used for the place. Further (early) mentions were made in 1247 “Zimmer in montanis”, 1285 “Cymmern”, 1380 “Zcymmern vff dem bergen”, 1571 “Zimmern”, 1754 “Zimmersupra” and 1833 temporarily “Oberzimmer”. The place name was interpreted as "in the / by the timbered house" - possibly an unusual wooden construction, which was regionally known when the place name was created.
The Counts of Gleichen and the monastery of Hersfeld , which is also richly wealthy in Central Thuringia, owned the village until the middle of the 14th century. There were yards of the nobles Trebis , Utzberg and Bodewitz in the village. From 1358 the place belonged to the territory of the growing commercial city Erfurt . The takeover of Zimmersupra took place in several steps and ended around 1600. Bailiwicks were formed to manage the Erfurt outlying estates, with the room supra being assigned to the Bailiwick of Nottleben . This administrative structure existed until 1706. An administrative reform changed the layout of the Erfurt administrative units in 1706, an administrative office was now set up, in which the room supra was assigned to the office of Alach , which was roughly the same size .
In the 19th century, several changes of state rule took place, triggered by the Napoleonic rule and the fall of Kurmainz as state territory. Erfurt and its rural communities went from Kurmainz to Prussia in 1802 , and from 1816 Erfurt became part of the Prussian province of Saxony . The administrative seat moved to Magdeburg , Erfurt remained important as the administrative district capital . Zimmersupra then temporarily belonged to the district of Erfurt and was allocated to the district of Weißensee in 1932 . As part of the GDR , Zimmersupra belonged to the Erfurt-Land district from 1952 . A few years after Thuringia joined the Federal Republic of Germany ( German reunification ), Zimmersupra became part of the newly formed district of Gotha in 1994 .
