The municipality of Nesse-Apfelstädt is a rural municipality in the district of Gotha in Thuringia . The administrative seat is in Neudietendorf.

history
The rural community of Nesse-Apfelstädt was created on December 1, 2009 through the merger of the communities of Apfelstädt, Gamstädt, Ingersleben and Neudietendorf. The community is named after the two rivers Nesse and Apfelstädt . Previously, the districts of the municipality were already amalgamated in the administrative association Nesse-Apfelstädt-Gemeinde , this was dissolved at the same time as the municipality was established.

traffic
The federal highway 7 runs through the municipality in the north as well as the federal highway 71 in the east and the federal highway 4 in the south.
In addition, the Neudietendorf station is an important railway junction where the Thuringian Railway ( Erfurt - Eisenach ) branches off the Neudietendorf – Ritschenhausen line with trains to Ilmenau , Meiningen , Würzburg and Saalfeld to the south. There are train connections to Erfurt, Eisenach, Halle and Göttingen via the Thuringian Railway .
