The connection resulted in seven children. Around 1833 Müller moved to Zittau after the manors were sold.

Career

Working as a yarn and linen dealer, the trained businessman soon recognized the monopoly of the English linen industry , which consistently dominated the German market with regard to machine yarn . On July 1, 1845, he and four other partners founded the Hirschfelde flax yarn spinning mill as the first machine flax spinning mill in the Kingdom of Saxony , which began production in 1847. In the same year was nursing Checkout Mullerian factory and flax mill to Hirschfelde , one of the first company health insurance , which in Germany made at that time for the health protection and financial security in conditions of employees. This initiative was followed by the creation of an in-house hospital in 1865. With his foresight, Müller relied on skilled workers from the English linen industry right from the start, which soon made the company world famous. The entrepreneur received the first awards for his products at the First General German Industrial Exhibition in July 1854 in Munich .

Due to the American Civil War in the years 1861 to 1865 and the resulting shortage of cotton , the European linen industry experienced an upswing, from which the Hirschfelde flax spinning mill also benefited. Heinrich Carl Müller was able to significantly enlarge his company with an expanded product variety and increase the production volume considerably, with the number of employees increasing from an initial 400 to around 1000. He was involved in the Freiberg flax spinning mill built by his son-in-law Robert Hirt (1827–1904) in 1859 . After the establishment of flax processing plants in Marienberg and Lichtenberg in the Erzgebirge and the acquisition of a cotton mill in Furth near Chemnitz , the nationally respected entrepreneur handed over the business to his son Heinrich Müller (born March 30, 1824 in Sohland ; † July 22, 1899 in Hirschfelde).
