Eckardtsleben is a district of the city of Bad Langensalza in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .
geography
Eckardtsleben is 4.85 km (as the crow flies) south of Bad Langensalza (Marktkirche) and on the state road 2125 (Bad Langensalza - Aschara ). The place is on both sides of a stream valley sloping to the northeast. The Black Brook , which rises near Wiegleben, flows through the village from west to east , and leaves the village as the Reifenheimer Graben to flow into the Tonna a little below the Gräfentonna local mill . Since its source, the stream has traveled 8.86 km and lost 140 m in height. The intensely used, undulating terrain belongs to the arable farming area of the Thuringian Basin. The soils are fertile and mostly influenced by groundwater. Smaller erosion channels usually loosen up the landscape with greenery.
The Eckardtsleben stop on the Gotha – Leinefelde railway line is located in the south of the village .
history
The village, which has 246 inhabitants, was first mentioned on June 1, 932. The place belonged to the sub-care of the Tonna rule , which from 1677 belonged to the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg as "Amt Tonna" .
The place has a village character without multi-storey high-rise or new buildings and is characterized by agriculture.
District Mayor
The district mayor of Eckardtsleben is Dirk Schmidt.
