Klettstedt is a district of the city of Bad Langensalza in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .

geography

Klettstedt is located in the Thuringian Basin between Bad Langensalza and Bad Tennstedt . The neighboring villages are - clockwise from the north - Tottleben , Groß- und Klein- Urleben , Großvargula , Nägelstedt and Sundhausen . The Klunkerbach flows through Klettstedt towards Urleben.

In the south and south-east of the village, numerous large wind turbines determine the landscape.

history

In 874 the first known documentary mention of the place took place. The Großvargula taverns owned eight farms and several Hufen good farmland in Klettstedt in 1214. The place belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office Langensalza until 1815 and after its cession to Prussia from 1816 to 1944 to the district of Langensalza in the province of Saxony .

Until January 1, 2019, Klettstedt was an independent municipality that had belonged to the Bad Tennstedt administrative community since 1991 , until it was incorporated into Bad Langensalza.

Culture and sights

Buildings

  • Evangelical St. Caecilia Church : Above the entrance to the church tower, the year 1574, above the entrance to the nave, the year 1818 (restorations). Inside the church there are memorial plaques for those who fell in both world wars and for those who left the village after 1945. In the churchyard, which is no longer used as a cemetery, there is a small stone cross from 1582 and a millstone as a reminder of the earlier importance of the dye plant woad for the village.

Museums

There is a museum by the Dresden sculptor Johannes Friedrich Rogge in the village .

Economy and Infrastructure

The state road 3176 runs through the village from Bad Langensalza through the Thuringian Basin towards Sömmerda .
