description
The years 1406 * 1560 * 1670 * 1747 are carved into the step to the choir . They remind of the different building eras of the church. In the 16th century, the old nave , which adjoined the church tower to the west , was first rebuilt. It was later demolished and a new one built. It is entered through the tower today. After Johann Georg August Galletti , the church was built from scratch in 1670 . The nave was changed in 1747 and 1894. Today St. Lukas presents itself as a simple, plastered , hall church covered with a gable roof with a three-sided end of the choir, an extension for the sacristy and a retracted tower in the west. The nave and choir have uniform, pointed-arched windows. The north side has oval windows from the 18th century, on the west side they are rounded . The ground floor of the tower has a groin vault . The tower is covered with a curved, slate-covered dome and an open lantern on which a tower ball sits. The tower underwent major changes in the 18th century. Since October 31, 2008 ( Reformation Day ) three bells have been ringing in the tower again . Not all of the bronze bells withdrawn during the Second World War were found in the Hamburg bell cemetery. Melchior Moeringk from Erfurt cast the bell from 1632.
The nave is covered with a hollow vault. The galleries are z. T. two-storey. The balustrades of the galleries show an artistic stencil painting . The painting from 1894 is somewhat darkened. In the meantime, the interior of the church has shed its dark gray and shines in bright colors. The basket of the pulpit altar from 1749 is decorated with rocaille . The cup-shaped baptismal font , dated 1370, stands in front of the altar. A sandstone epitaph from 1616 for Paulus Ludwig and his wife is equipped with a crucifix and statues of the two people.
The original organ with 17 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was created around 1857 by the organ builder Gustav Koch. It was replaced by a Knauf organ in 1880 .
