The choir and nave (with an open roof) were erected between 1430 and 1440 in Perpendicular Style on the site of older churches from the 11th and 13th centuries.

Construction of the tower began in 1501 by builders from Lincoln ; around 1515 it was completed. It was restored in 1844.

The interior of the church is affected by renovations in the 19th and 20th centuries.

The organ (large organ with 12 registers, swell organ with 13 registers, choir organ with 8 registers and pedal with 6 registers) was rebuilt in 1911.

The ringing consists of eight bells newly cast in 1726.
