The State Vocational School Center Arnstadt-Ilmenau (SBSZ) is based in Ilmenau , a university town in Thuringia and, like the Technical University of Ilmenau, is located on the Ehrenberg . Another school location is in the district town of Arnstadt .
History and meaning
The SBSZ Arnstadt-Ilmenau emerges from the two vocational schools in the Ilm district and was founded on August 1, 2017. Both locations can look back on a long history and are proud of their traditions. Since the 1940s, the focus in Arnstadt has been on the professions of jewelry and metal design, the roots of Ilmenau's glass training go back to 1839. The amalgamation of the two educational institutions serves to secure the training of specialists in the region close to home and location. The preparation for an academic career remains concentrated in Ilmenau. It is possible to obtain a secondary or secondary school leaving certificate at both locations. The Arnstadt site is responsible for training young people in the Arnstadt juvenile prison .
