Rollag stave church
The Rollag Stave Church is a Norwegian stave church and is located about 50 kilometers northeast of Kongsberg in Rollag province Viken near the river Lågen .
history
It was first mentioned in a document in 1425. It was heavily rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries and only has the main construction of hemboards, deck bars, the corner bars and some of the wall boards from the Middle Ages. Originally it had an arcade.
Documented renovation stages:
- 1670: Replacement of the choir with a larger one in block construction .
- After 1690: addition of a transept in bar construction.
- 1760: Extension of the church to the west and heightening of the walls in block construction. Addition of a new roof ridge above the center of the choir.
The church was paved and painted in the 17th century; She received a 18th century rococo - pulpit .
