The Stade Émile Mayrisch , also known as the Stade Municipal Émile Mayrisch , is a football stadium in Esch an der Alzette , Luxembourg . It is the home of the football club and seven-time Luxembourg champions CS Fola Esch , as well as the amateur athletics club CA Fola Esch . The stadium has around 660 seats in the main stand and a little more than 3,000 standing places. The stadium, named after the steel industrialist and President of the ARBED Board of Directors, Emil Mayrisch , was once designed for 10,000 spectators, but for structural reasons it now only has a capacity of around 3,900 visitors.
The stadium, located in the south of Esch an der Alzette on Rue du Stade , has a six-lane 400-meter long running track in addition to the field. There is also an additional eight-lane 100-meter track behind the broad side of the field, as well as a jumping pit and a high jump facility . The football club's training ground is at the other end of town on Rue Dr. Emile Colling . In addition to the main square, there is also a smaller, primarily hobby-use, space behind a fence on the other broad side.
The main grandstand, which was previously equipped with wooden benches painted yellow and green, was renovated and modernized in 2011 and has since shone with plastic seating in the club colors and the club name “FOLA”, which is shaped with the seats. The stadium on Galgenberg was reopened in September 2011 at a tournament of the city's three clubs (CS Fola Esch, Jeunesse Esch and US Esch ). Since May 2017, the stadium on the back straight has a new, uncovered grandstand with around 500 red bucket seats.
