Stade Abdoulaye Makoro Cissoko is a multi-purpose stadium in the Republic of Mali, the sports facility is located in the southern part of the city of Kayes . The oval-shaped, stair-like, rising audience platform offers seating for around 15,000 spectators.
history
The stadium was built by the Chinese construction company COVEC on behalf of the government under the direction of "Ministère de la Jeunesse et des Sports" and completed in 2001. The official inauguration took place on January 10, 2002 with the opening game by the Malian national soccer team against the Zambian national soccer team , the game ended in a draw (final score 1: 1). The stadium also hosted the Coupe d'Afrique des nations de football 2002 .
The stadium is also the home ground of the "Association sportive Sigui Kayes" (short: AS Sigui Kayes).
