The Stade Pierre-Aliker is a sports stadium in Fort-de-France , Martinique . The stadium has a capacity of 16,300 spectators, making it the largest sports facility in the French Antilles . It is mainly used for soccer games and athletics competitions.

Surname

Initially, the stadium was named after the district of Fort-de-France in which it is located. On February 9, 2007 it was renamed "Stade municipal Pierre-Aliker". Lamentin Pierre Aliker, a former mayor of Fort-de-France born in 1907 and Martinique's delegate to the National Assembly, was named after Lamentin Pierre Aliker .

Usually Martinique football teams compete in this stadium. The national team and Club Colonial use the pitch most often. At the opening in 1993 and 2005, the French national soccer team for men, in 2011 the French national soccer team for women competed here.

There were also several political and cultural events in the Stade Pierre-Aliker. These included concerts by Kassav ' and Lionel Richie and the “Grand Méchant Zouk ” as part of the 40th Fort-de-France cultural festival.
