The Františka Kloze Stadium is a football stadium in the Czech city of Kladno . It is the venue of the SK Kladno football club . The stadium, which is named after František Kloz , has 4,000 seats.

Characteristics

The stadium is located on the western outskirts of Kladno in the immediate vicinity of the municipal ice rink . It has four stands, but is only extended on three sides. On the west side, where the main entrance is also, is the covered main grandstand (grandstand A). To the south of it is the small uncovered grandstand B. In the south curve there is also uncovered grandstand C. This is also where the home fans' sector is located. Grandstand D is on the back straight, the northern part of which contains the sector for the guests' supporters.

history

In the spring of 1914, the Kladno City Council decided to build a new craft school. The U Amálky site was chosen as the area for the new building , on which part of the SK Kladno football field was located. The club quickly found a new piece of land in the nearby Lapák city forest and began building a new sports field under the direction of the client Hraběte. The new place was opened on October 25, 1914 with a game against SK Kročehlavy , which ended 3: 3.

In 1951 the ash area was converted into a lawn. On August 31, 1969, the stadium was renamed the Františka Kloze Stadium in memory of František Kloz . On that day SK Kladno lost in a league game Sparta Prague with 0-2. In 1973, the property on which the stadium is located became the property of the steel manufacturer SONP Kladno, which was also the sponsoring company of the club, which at that time was called TJ SONP Kladno.

In 1975 the stadium received a floodlight system with an output of 600 lux, which was inaugurated with a 1-0 victory in the semifinals of the Czech Cup against Baník Ostrava on December 13, 1975. The floodlight system was renewed in 2006 and now has an output of 1,400 lux.

In 1988, modernization of the stadium began, which took almost 20 years. First of all, the roof and the facade of the main stand were renewed. In addition, SONP also began building a new, small grandstand next to the main grandstand, but did not get beyond the construction of the steel structure. The grandstand was only finally completed in 2005.

In 1998 the meanwhile privatized SONP Holding went bankrupt. SK Kladno acquired the stadium from the bankruptcy estate for 3.75 million crowns.

In the course of the long-lasting renovation from the late 1980s to 2007, the capacity fell from 25,000 to 10,000 initially. In a further stage, the stadium was converted into an all-seater with a capacity of 4,000 spectators.

In December 2008, the media speculated that the city of Kladno could buy the stadium from SK Kladno for 45 million crowns.
