The Stadionul Forex ( German  Forex Stadium ) is a football stadium in the Romanian city of Brașov . It was currently the home of the Tractorul Brasov and Forex Brasov football clubs . The stadium has 2,500 seats.

history

The stadium in which Forex plays its home games was built in 1940 and for many years served as the home stadium for the second division club Tractorul Brașov under the name Stadionul Tractorul . It was bought by Nicolae Țucunel in 2002 for US $ 30,000 and completely renovated in the spring of 2003. Further modernization work took place in 2005 after Forex rose to Divizia B.

During the 2007/08 season of Liga II , when promotion was almost certain, FC Brașov also played a few of its home games in this stadium, as the Stadionul Tineretului had to be renovated due to the licensing conditions of the 1st division.

Immediately after Forex withdrew from Liga II in October 2008, Țucunel, who had since been appointed President of the Brașov Chamber of Commerce and Industry , announced that the stadium would be demolished and a new shopping center and hotel built in 2009 on the now ten million US dollar site.
