City Archives Hattingen

The Hattingen city archive stores documents, newspapers, photos and also private estates for the purpose of documenting and researching the city's history. It is located in the Rauendahl district .

The archive stores over 200 estates from companies, parties, clubs and associations, private individuals and families, including the Hattingen synagogue community , the Hattingen Heimatverein, the Blankenstein poor fund, Hardenstein House , Hattingen District School Inspectorate, Leo Gottwald KG / Mönninghoff (flange factory) , C. Hundt Sel. Widow (newspaper publisher and printer), by local researchers Heinrich Eversberg , Paul Freisewinkel and Erwin Wied as well as by press photographer Hans Saamann.
