Rauendahl is a northern part of the Winz-Baak district of Hattingen in the Ennepe-Ruhr district on the right side of the Ruhr .

The district is located northeast of Baak and southeast of Bochum-Linden, east of Wuppertaler Straße. It is accessed through Rauendahlstrasse. On the opposite side of the Ruhr is the industrial area on the site of the former Henrichshütte . Rauendahl belongs to the official Hattingen district of Winz-Baak .

history

Rauendahl Castle is said to have stood on the Ruhrwiesen a long time ago. In the early days of the Ruhr mining industry , the Rauendahler Schiebeweg was relocated in order to transport the coal to the Rauendahler Kohlenniederlage on the Ruhr, which was built in 1781.

One elementary school was closed in 1925. A large part of the housing stock belongs to the Hattinger Wohnstätten (HWG), which built here in the 1950s. A total of 870 apartments had been modernized by 2004. The sports field on Munscheidstrasse was built in the 1960s.

Infrastructure

The infrastructure includes a supermarket ( Aldi Nord ), the Rauendahl children's and youth club, an indoor swimming pool and the Hattingen city archive . Instead of the ash, the sports field should be covered with artificial turf.
