Niederbonsfeld is a district of Hattingen . The village is located south of the Ruhr , west of Isenburg and north of Kidneyhof . The Essen – Wuppertal railway line touches the place without having a station here. The Spiel- und Sportverein Niederbonsfeld 1936 is part of the club life. Religious life is shaped by the church of St. Engelbert am Kressenberg, built in 1900 in the Deilbach valley .

In 1265 the farmers and settlers united to form the Bodinsfeld peasantry, from which the place names Oberbonsfeld and Niederbonsfeld later emerged. Niederbonsfeld came to Winz on May 15, 1926 and was part of the Hattingen office . On January 1, 1970, it was incorporated into the city ​​of Hattingen .
