The Stadtbad Zittau is the oldest preserved and used as such Stadtbad Germany; If you also include those that were torn down / converted, it is the sixth oldest in Germany.

It goes back to three mineral springs on the Töpferberg. A public bathing room was set up there as early as 1753. In 1870, city planning director Emil Trummler was commissioned with a new building. His design included a medieval tower in the city wall. The most modern indoor swimming pool of its time was created, including a steam bath and wave pool .

The federal government, the state of Saxony and the German Foundation for Monument Protection have invested almost ten million euros in the restoration of the building .

  • Städtische Dienst-GmbH Zittau (bath and sauna operation)
