The Stadthaushotel Hamburg Altona became known as the first integration hotel in Europe. It is located in the Altona-Altstadt district at the intersection of Holstenstrasse / Max-Brauer-Allee . The operator is the jugend hilft jugend – Arbeit non-profit company. In the integrative hotel people with and without disabilities work and learn together; nine of the twelve employees of the town house hotel have mental and physical disabilities.

The standards of normal hotels apply. In addition, the accessibility of the rooms for people with disabilities is part of the concept. The town house hotel has four single, eight double and one family rooms as well as a conference room; seven of the rooms are suitable for wheelchair users, all rooms are suitable for allergy sufferers. But 70 percent of it is visited by business people, families and tourists from all over the world. The hotel was featured in numerous newspaper articles and television programs, including international ones.

In the meantime, over thirty integration hotels have been built in Germany based on the concept of the Hamburg Altona town house hotel. Some of them joined together to form the Embrace Hotels group, which also includes the Stadthaushotel.
