The Schwabach City Hospital is a hospital in Schwabach .

It was opened in 1938 with 94 beds and expanded in the 1950s and from 1990 to 2000. It now offers 180 beds and has specialist departments for internal medicine, trauma and general surgery, anesthesiology and the ear, nose and throat medicine department. Since 2015 there is no more gynecology and obstetrics. In the medical departments, over 7,000 inpatients and around 12,000 outpatients are treated annually. The Schwabach City Hospital is the teaching hospital of the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg . A vocational school for nursing is attached to the house .

Bariatric Surgery

Germany's first certified gastric pacemaker was implanted in the Schwabach city hospital in March 2011 .
