The city traffic Friedrichshafen GmbH is the operator of the public city bus traffic in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance . In 2016, 3.9 million passengers traveled on 18 day and six evening lines.

history

The company was founded on December 21, 1990. In May 1999 a new bus concept was introduced. It consisted of 12 lines and a MesseExpress to Messe Friedrichshafen . As a result, the Friedrichshafen urban area was better served. Two lines also go to Markdorf (lines 11, 12) and one to Oberteuringen (line 14).

In April 2002, the network was expanded to include Fallenbrunnen and a densification towards Oberhof / Stockerholz. In July 2002, with the relocation of the exhibition center, the extension of line 5 to the new exhibition center and a new line 18 airport - exhibition center (MesseShuttle) began.

Stadtverkehr Friedrichshafen GmbH has been a member of the Bodensee-Oberschwaben Verkehrsverbund (bodo) since January 1st, 2004 . On December 11, 2005, the line layout was adjusted in the course of the commissioning of the Manzell, Fischbach and Kluftern rail stops.

In 2011, city traffic, which until then ended around 8 p.m., was supplemented by six evening lines, i.e. a third of the daytime buses. Several lines were combined into one.

traffic

The fleet consists of 22 Mercedes Citaro buses. With an average age of 0.8 years (December 31, 2015), the Friedrichshafen city traffic has one of the youngest fleets in Germany.
