The gasworks site in the Oberhausen district with the gas boiler (gasometer) is evidence of this. Today, the swa supply many customers with heating energy with several district heating power plants, operate their own electricity production (including a gas turbine power plant ) and supply the urban area with natural gas.

water
The water supply in Augsburg has a long history. Augsburg was one of the first cities in Bavaria to have a central supply network with drinking water, not least for the numerous magnificent fountains (at that time from the Red Gate), from which the drinking water supply of the city of Augsburg has developed to this day. The drainage (sewer system) is separated from the municipal utilities and is taken over by municipal sewage companies.

Stadtwerke Augsburg carried around 57.2 million passengers in 2014. In the years that followed, it was steadily increased and in 2018 it reached a new high with 62.4 million passengers.
