Stajki ( Belarusian Стайкі , Russian Стайки , English transcription Stayki ) is a small place 12 kilometers southeast of Minsk , the capital of Belarus , in which a sports complex is located. Athletes from the former Soviet Union and later Belarus have been preparing in Stajki for the Summer Olympics and other international highlights since the 1970s . Top performances in the world were often achieved.

Stajki was built as a sports location in 1947 - initially as a tent camp, later simple wooden houses were built. A number of hotels were built ahead of the 1980 Summer Olympics , which took place in the Soviet capital, Moscow .

The entire sports complex now covers an area of ​​88 hectares and offers facilities for 20 sports.
