The Stalinez-100 ( Russian Сталинец-100 ), called S-100 (Russian С-100) from 1958 in the course of de-Stalinization , is a heavy Soviet chain tractor that can also be used as a bulldozer with a corresponding dozer blade. It replaced the Stalinez-80 , which had been built since 1946 . Production began in 1956 in the Chelyabinsky Traktorny Zavod and by 1964 just under 125,000 copies were built.

Vehicle history and description

Successor model T-100

The Stalinez-100 was developed and built in series from 1956. In essence, the predecessor Stalinez-80 was equipped with an improved engine, which now delivers 100 HP (74 kW). When the factory was renamed in 1958, Stalin's name was also removed from the model name . From then on only the abbreviation S-100 was used, no longer the name Stalinez.

As a starter of the diesel engine, a laterally flanged 2-cylinder serves gasoline engine P-46th With the starter motor running, the large-volume diesel engine is started by actuating three levers (gear, clutch, decompression). The starter engine itself is started with a crank, later electric starters were retrofitted for it. The common cooling system of the starter motor and main engine has a volume of 75 liters, the starter motor preheats the main engine. This means that the vehicle can also be used in severe frost.

The height of the dozer blade is adjusted at the front by a central pulley , which is driven by a winch at the rear of the caterpillar. From 1963 the T-100 model was produced in parallel, which largely corresponds to the S-100. But it got a more powerful diesel engine and on some versions the dozer blade can be adjusted in height using two hydraulic cylinders on the side. In 1964 the production of the S-100 was stopped, a total of 124,416 units were built.

The tractors of the type Stalinez-100 and S-100 were used in many states of the former Eastern Bloc .
