Standard situation

A standard situation (also called standard for short ) is a game situation in a team sport that results from a previous game interruption.

The standard situation is particularly suitable to be practiced in training because of the relatively easily predictable process . In football especially the will in this context kick and corner called standard situations arise but the throw , kick , penalty or the offense .

Standard situations exist in almost all team ball sports. Especially in American football , plays are developed from standard situations that are executed on command.

The term first appeared in football in the 1970s in the GDR . In West German football, the term was adopted towards the end of the 1980s.
