Stanislaus Socolovius
Stanislaus Socolovius (Polish: Stanisław Sokołowski (kaznodzieja); born March 31, 1537 in Cracow ; † 1593 there) was a Polish theologian and canon who was one of the first to grapple with the importance of the Eastern Churches during the Reformation.
He studied in 1564 in Wittenberg , 1575 in Rome , Bologna and Padua , where he obtained his doctorate and then returned to Krakow. He became a professor at the university and a canon.
