The Stanton Hills are a loose group of up to 1300 m high nunataks in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Behrendt Mountains , these are distributed 13 km west of Mount Neuner over a length of more than 19 km.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) they mapped based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy in the years from 1961 to 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after Lieutenant Commander Ronald A. Stanton, pilot an LC-130 Hercules to logistical support for a team of geologists from the USGS that worked here in 1985.
