He was born on December 21, 2016 at 20:30 UTC with an Ariane-5 - rocket from the rocket launch site Guiana Space Center (along with JCSAT-15 ) into a geostationary brought orbit.

The three-axis stabilized satellite is equipped with 70 Ka-, C- and Ku-band transponders and is supposed to provide telecommunications services and the Internet from Brazil, Mexico, Latin America (West), Central America and the Caribbean from a position of 84 ° West.
