Star Trek: Titan
Star Trek: Titan is an American science fiction -Romanreihe that the fictional Star Trek - universe plays and has been published since of 2005. At the center of the plot, which is set towards the end of the 24th century, is the eponymous star fleet spaceship USS Titan, which is mentioned for the first time at the end of the tenth Star Trek movie Nemesis . In the Titan series , eight novels have been published in English and seven of them in German. In the movie Nemesis , William T. Riker , until then in the rank of commander and first officer on the Enterprise-E , is promoted to captain. He is given command of the starfleet spaceship USS Titan NCC-80102, which belongs to the Luna class and is mainly on research missions in the Beta Quadrant, far from the center of the Federation area. He starts his service on the Titan together with his wife Deanna Troi , who from then on acts as ship advisor and senior diplomat and also comes from the Enterprise. In 2381 their daughter Natasha Miana was born. The human woman Christine Vale is first officer in the rank of commander. The Vulcan commander Tuvok , previously active on the Voyager , is the second and tactical officer. The chief medical officer on board is Lt. Commander Dr. Shenti Yisec Eres Ree , a male individual of reptilian species pahkwa Thanh. Head of security on the Titan is the ununited, male Trill (Lt.) Cdr. Ranul Keru . The chief engineer is the Efrosian Xin Ra-Havreii . The Elaysian Lt. Cdr. Melora Pazlar works as a science officer.
Titan- related stories are also included in the three Star Trek novel miniseries Destiny, Typhon Pact, and The Fall , which are crossovers between several series of novels . In The Fall , Riker is promoted to admiral.

With the Titan series, Pocket Books publisher Marco Palmieri pursued the goal of giving Starfleet's original mission - consisting of peaceful exploration, diplomacy and knowledge expansion - a new dimension , after the previous Star Trek television and novel series were last released War events were dominated, including the Dominion War in Deep Space Nine and the conflict with the Romulans in Nemesis .
