Starck German
Starckdeutsch is an artificial language invented in 1972 by the German painter and poet Matthias Koeppel . It was used by Koeppel for parodic poems.
General language features
The Starck German vocabulary is based on modern German with numerous antiquated forms ( Paradeis , Äugelein ), while the sound level is influenced, among other things, by Middle High German , but also by Low German (e.g. schauwn to mhd. Schouwen “look”). Significant characteristics of Starck German are consistent phonetic reinforcement and hardening of the consonants ( ck , ff , ßß ), consonant accumulation , excessive ablaut or diphthonging and stretching of the vowels , loss of unstressed vowels and reduplication . The syntax largely corresponds to the standard High German language , as does the punctuation (except for individual accumulations of punctuation marks). Since Starck German is not a constructed language , but an artistic game with language, there are no fixed rules for phonetics and orthography . With its strong vocal and consonant-reinforced character, Starck German is less suitable for reading in silence than for reading poems out loud.
Language maintenance
The Austrian conductor and chansonnier Hans Karl Gruber sings German songs.
The vocal ensemble Berliner Hymnentafel is also known for its Starck German songs in collaboration with Matthias Koeppel.
