The computer game Starship Troopers is a spin-off of the film of the same name or the novel of the same name by Robert A. Heinlein . It was the second attempt by Strangelite Studios to bring this first-person shooter onto the market.

In this computer game, the player assumes the role of a member of the special unit Marauder of the Mobile Infantry and needs against the enemy bugs (Engl. "Insects" and "vermin" and "pseudo Arachnida " called) an alien, spider-like species from the planet Klendathu fight .

action

The game begins five years after Buenos Aires was destroyed by a bug meteor. The enemies could be pushed far into the arachnoid quarantine zone , but the war is still going on. The special unit of the Marauders , to which you belong as a player, is supposed to help destroy the enemy.

The game is divided into levels . After solving difficult tasks, the player reaches the next level.

The main tasks are to kill enemies. For this purpose, the player has a growing arsenal of weapons at his disposal as the level increases.

criticism

The computer game magazine GameStar wrote in its conclusion: Okay, the Starship Troopers tactical game from 2001 was cool, but I always wanted to stand in the middle of the bustle of the bug myself and fire from all pipes. And that's exactly what I can finally do now. Monotonous gameplay or weak graphics, Starship Troopers is a lot of fun for me due to the atmosphere and fast-paced missions. I can get over the short playing time, after all, in the (albeit tight) co-op mode , I am allowed to serve the Federation with my buddies. Off to the mobile infantry! Rating: (77 percent)
